New Training Workshop for Our New Healthcare Clowns: Reflections of the Clown

Today, we held a specialised training workshop at our headquarter in Birzeit. The workshop aimed to develop their skills and strengthen their professional capacities, delivered by our Artistic Director, Daoud Totah.

Taking time to pause and reflect is an essential part of every healthcare clown's journey. Through the "Reflection of the Clown" workshop, RED NOSES Palestine brought together new healthcare clowns to explore their experiences, deepen their self-awareness, and reflect on the emotional impact of their work. Through dialogue, shared experiences, and guided reflection, participants strengthened their understanding of the role of healthcare clowning and reaffirmed their commitment to bringing laughter, connection, and emotional support to those who need it most.

In addition, the workshop focused on improving the clowns’ characters, including developing stage presence, expression, interaction with children, costume design, as well as character names and traits.

This workshop is part of “Humour gives hope: Strengthening the mental health of vulnerable children & adolescents in Palestine through health clowning” project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMASGPK).
