A New Training on Psychology to Strengthen Human Connection Among Healthcare Clowns
RED NOSES Palestine (RNPS) organised a specialised two-day training for healthcare clowns on psychology, delivered by Dr. Laila Al Atshan at our office in Birzeit last Friday and Saturday.
The training aimed to deepen the clowns’ understanding of the psychological developments individuals experience throughout different stages of life, with a special focus on communication skills and psychosocial support for target groups.
Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, the clowns explored several topics, including psychological changes associated with ageing, communication approaches with older citizens and children, as well as dealing with themes related to illness and death with empathy and sensitivity. The training also highlighted the psychological dimension of humour and its impact on psychosocial support within healthcare settings.
This training is part of the specialised curriculum for healthcare clowns, as part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening their skills and enhancing their ability to build meaningful human connections and provide effective psychosocial support in healthcare settings.
This training was held in partnership with Drosos Foundation.
