RNPS Spreads Joy Among Displaced Children from Jenin Camp
Amid the difficult conditions faced by children following their displacement from Jenin Camp, RNPS has been conducting regular visits since February 2026 through its healthcare clowns at displacement centers across the city of Jenin. These visits aim to spread hope, bring joy, and draw smiles to children’s faces. Around 100 children—many of whom have endured harsh experiences affecting their sense of safety and stability—have benefited from these activities.
These visits go beyond simple entertainment. They highlight the importance of healthcare clowning as an effective tool for psychosocial support, especially among displaced communities. Through healthcare clowning, children are encouraged to express their emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, and regain parts of their childhood affected by displacement. It also helps strengthen their sense of belonging and safety, while supporting their ability to cope and build resilience in the face of hardships.
RNPS emphasised its commitment to continuing these visits, driven by a strong belief in the importance of reaching marginalised children and creating safe spaces filled with laughter and positive interaction. Such efforts play a crucial role in improving mental well-being and fostering hope among children.
These visits are carried out in coordination with The Freedom Theatre in Jenin.
It is part of “Humour gives hope: Strengthening the mental health of vulnerable children & adolescents in Palestine through health clowning” project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMASGPK).
