Exploring the Healing Power of Humour with Star Mountain’s Caregivers.

Exploring the Healing Power of Humour with Star Mountain’s Caregivers.

Positive energy and laughter filled the room during a new humour workshop held today with the dedicated caregivers at Star Mountain Rehabilitation Centre in Ramallah, led by RED NOSES Palestine (RNPS) Artistic Director Daoud Totah.

RNPS is conducting a series of humour workshops for various Palestinian health institutions, rehabilitation centres, as well as students and professionals working in the healthcare field.

Participants explored how humour can transform care environments, especially when supporting children with disabilities. Research shows that laughter and play not only reduce stress and anxiety but also enhance communication, build trust, and foster inclusion — helping people with disabilities express themselves, connect with others, and experience joy beyond medical routines.

Through interactive exercises, caregivers learned how to use humour and creativity to build confidence and create a positive, uplifting atmosphere in their daily work.

This workshop is part of “Humour gives hope: Strengthening the mental health of vulnerable children & adolescents in Palestine through health clowning” project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMASGPK).
